Requirements:

Must meet the Illinois State Board of Education (Regional Office of Education) substitute teacher or Assistant Teacher requirements, including a criminal background check and fingerprinting.  Fees for license registration will be required and are the responsibility of the applicant, as well as submission of required paperwork.
You can be a substitute teacher in Illinois if you have a Bachelors Degree.
You can be a substitute teachers assistant in Illinois if you have an Associates Degree or 60 college credit hours.

The pay rate is: Teacher $95.00 per day. Assistant Teacher $80 per day.
