The WCSEA Skill Builders program is designed to meet the diverse and individual needs of students who demonstrate a need for a highly specialized program. Students are placed in the program when the IEP team, including parents, agree that this kind of environment is the least restrictive placement for the student and the opportunities outweigh other programming options. A carefully designed repertoire of curriculum options for communication, social skills, adaptive or functional skills, and academics promotes personal growth and independence. Our program provides opportunities for students to be with general education peers, access parts of the general education curriculum to develop life long skills. We serve students in Kindergarten to age 22 in primary, intermediate, and secondary classrooms housed in some of our district buildings. Transportation to and from home is provided as part of the program.
