EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING

The meeting was called to order by chairman, Mr. Dan Mair on November 10 , 2016 at 8:00 a.m.

Moved by Mr. Dietrich, seconded by Dr. Oakley, to approve the Executive Committee meeting minutes of October 12, 2016, Executive Session minutes from October 12, 2016; the bills, treasurer' s reports and financial reports of November 10 , 2016, and the destruction of Executive Session Audio Recordings Older than 18 months. All present voted "yea" on roll call vote.


Moved by Mr. Payne, seconded by Mr. Toepke, to approve the employment of Stefanie Straw as part-time Physical Therapist Assistant for the remainder of the 2016-17 school year, pending results of background check. All present voted "yea" on roll call vote.


The Director provided an update on the WCSEA/Easter Seals facility. He provided a formal presentation to the board outlining the financial implications and hiring proposals. The board provided input into the hiring of staff for the 2017-18 year and gave the Director the authorization to move forward with interviews and recommendations for employment to the board. Mr. Mair indicated that the Germantown Middle School construction project is still on target for completion in March of 2017.


The Director provided information on the completion of Excess Cost calculations. The Director will be sending instructions and worksheets, along with last year' s finalized worksheets, to the superintendents and bookkeepers. The Director asked that these calculations be submitted to WCSEA prior to winter break in December.

The Director indicated that ISBE has transitioned from IEPoint to the new 1STAR system, which is accessable through IWAS. WCSEA will continue to submit special education student and personnel data on the behalf of the districts, but district SIS administrators will need to communicate with the WCSEA FACTS secretary to ensure accurate and up-to-date data within SIS.


There being no further business , on a motion by Mr. Bardwell, seconded by Dr. Peterson, the meeting was adjourned at 9:02 a.m. All present voted "yea".
